NEW DIRECTIONS ALONG OLD ROADS
The past decade has seen a lot of new development in the field of Second Language Acquisition. Most of these developments have confronted and discredited many mantras in language teaching and have provided a new practice-based set of principles to guide teaching. However, these research findings have been slow in making their entry into the classroom. In this presentation, we will explore some of these findings and consider how they can be implemented in language classrooms at various levels and in different contexts. It is hoped that participants will leave this talk with a repertoire of classroom tasks that are congruent with second language acquisition principles.
